My apologies, first off, for being SO behind. I'm not sure what happens between blogs and ideas for what to talk about. This link has been sitting in my email since I sent it to myself with a title "Blog about this" when my friend brought it to my attention late November. The mentioned article is dated November 26, 2006.
First of all, I would like to know when we stopped having certain "free" rights in our country. When did it become a fine-able offense to want peace? I wasn't aware that PEACE was such an unmerciful subject. This upsets me greatly, plus it is just ridiculous.
On another note, let’s talk about holiday decorations. It is very difficult these days, due to an overly “PC” society, to decorate on the outside of our homes, holiday time or not, without offending someone. I personally, find this absurd. What other people do in or outside of their homes really isn't my business. As long as someone isn't posting lewd photos of penises or vaginas I think I will choose to stay out of their business. If my neighbors want to decorate their homes with wreaths, Christmas lights, menorahs, or the sweet Mother Mary herself, it really is of no concern to me. I personally feel it is a damn shame that the homeowner mentioned in this article (and others like it) has to defend their right to boast their beliefs and/or feelings for holidays and religion.
I think I’ve said enough. Can’t we all just get along?
Peace and Love to everyone, no matter what your beliefs. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and Happy New Year too!!!!
