Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves

Note the title; its not a bad Cher song- I like it as a good classic w/ a catchy tune. The only one that concerns me for this posting is the latter, thieves.

Thieves have been around as long as time, I assume. Everyone knows what it means to steal, but does everyone know its wrong? I don't think so. I find stealing to be one of the most annoying things that anyone can do. Is it really so hard to NOT take something that does not belong to you? For some it is. Obviously though, this heinous crime and sin bothers me most when I have been a victim of theft.

I like to recycle. When I buy bottles of water at the grocery store there is an automatic surcharge for me to walk out of that store with the plastic that my water comes in. I like to get that money back whenever I can and I also enjoy doing my part to help the environment by recycling. Both items, I believe, help me sleep a little better at night. I could choose to put my empty bottles and cans in the colorful blue recycling bins that the city of Los Angeles has provided for me. I do put a lot of cardboard and other types of plastic or aluminum in that blue can. However, to ensure that I get the full redemption value of my plastic bottles and aluminum cans, I recently purchased my own brown plastic garbage container. I planned to keep the brown lidded container the farthest back and dark corner of my carport, so it would not be visible, but also so it could just sit there and nobody would bother it-or so I thought.

My brown garbage can full of empty bottles and cans has been stolen! I find this to be so annoying and obnoxious! Who steals a garbage can full of recyclables? Honestly! I'm appalled and so irritated! Is it so hard to leave stuff alone if it doesn't belong to you? It isn't the bottles and cans that I am upset about, I can always get more of those, but at least leave me my container that I purchased on my own. JERK(s)!
