Once Upon a Full Moon
Make sure you look out your window tonight at the full moon. Tonight's moon will be the biggest of the year as it reaches it closest point to Earth.
The moon's average distance from us is 238,855 miles but tonight it will only be about 221,560 miles away. Tonight's moon will be 14% larger in the sky and be 30% brighter than other full moons this year. Some online sources said that its the closest the moon as been to Earth since 1993!
Tides will be higher as the Earth's oceans are pulled by the gravity of the sun and moon. I'll be down by the beach tonight - I better be careful not to get washed away! Full moons are so beautiful and such a delight to see. I am very excited to see the full moon tonight!

I'm very glad you posted this. I had no idea. I got a txt msg from a good friend who said, "look at the moon!" And I was like, "um...I moved to another state?! Surely she doesn't think the moon will look the same to me here as it does to her there." Now that you've explained, I get it. I have noticed an intense moon lately.
