- Crisp and cool mornings. The sun shines different in the autumn. I love its warmth against the coolness of the air.
- The smell of the burnt dust that fills my home the first time I turn on the heater. I love that smell... so refreshing to turn on the heat, put on a sweater and sip some tea on the couch. I haven't got to turn on my heater yet - usually around November unless it gets unusually cold in LA.
- Pretty sunsets and cool nights. No description needed... its just so invigorating. I even have been leaving my bedroom window open a little at night to get a cool breeze in my bedroom!
- Pumpkin everything! Pumpkin bread, cookies, ravioli, soup.... Pumpkins to look at, pumpkins to carve!
- sweaters, jackets and coats! (oh my!) This belongs on my fashion blog but I get so excited to put on sweaters and coats. I have a small collection of coats and I plan on making it bigger this year! I can never have enough sweaters either.
- legwarmers and knit hats and boots! More fashion... I just really adore fall and winter fashion. If you have to be cold and suffer you might as well look good! An added bonus about autumn and winter that summer doesn't have is that you can always add another layer of clothing to warm up. When its hot -- one can only take so much off, then you are STILL HOT! I vote for mildly cooler temperatures.
- Nature Colors: there is nothing more beautiful than the crisp autumn breeze blowing while you look at a beautiful mountainside loaded with colorful leaves. Family in Utah I'm talking to you: please take some photos and send them to me! I miss the Wasatch Front this time of year.
So many things to look forward to and enjoy. I feel invigorated at the smells, sites and sounds that this season brings. Is it any wonder that autumn is my first choice for wedding dates?
