Darker Shades of Grey

The Streets of LA were looking bleak this week - why?  Everyone in fashion is attending Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Bryant Park (NYC).  No the streets aren't bleak, that would be a nice change though!  They were on Super Bowl Sunday.

Any chance I get, I have been sneaking prolonged glances at all of the fashion shows.  Even though I'm truly looking forward to spring, as most do this time of year, fall 2010 fashion has me bubbly with anticipation for autumn!

Vera Wang's Ready-to-wear is exactly what I'm in the mood for, she must read minds. Grey has been in command, and continues its reign in spring, but come fall we're putting grey's ever-classic older bro back in our top 5. I LOVE the copious array of dark tones with specks of light then, an occasional necklace of intricate pearl sculpture. Its not somber but elegant and still lighthearted- how very Vera! There is definitely a romantic mood here mixed with strong feminine nod to the women before us. We all love color, but the black will always beckon.  Click here for a link to the show on YouTube  a few favs...
