Have You Ever Seen the Rain?

While trying to decide what to wear today, I found myself Internet window-shopping, bookmarking pages for later when I can actually shop.  Then I start to get ideas of new staples I want in my closet for spring.  Its a pretty springlike day here in Los Angeles.  There is a gentle and chilly breeze blowing in my windows.  It rained most of the morning, and looks as though there is more to come for late afternoon.  I've done your shopping for you today, here is the perfect spring rainy-day outfit:

For easy access to these items, as you are reading I have included links in the store names, and other places throughout the writing so get rolly-pollee with that mouse.

Dress:
I love my dresses, I have since inception, so I don't anticipate a change coming anytime soon.  This is from Anthropologie, its the New York, New York Dress.  A beautiful print of Spring tulips at Rockafeller Center.  Since I usually post picture of couture and designer fashion, I thought my regular readers would welcome some inspiration to some casual "everyday" type of styles.

Sweater:
I love sweaters, I have far too many in similar colors.  Dressing in layers is great to do, especially in this time of year where you never quite know if you will feel warm or cold once you are outside.  I again, found this great dark yellow sweater at Anthropologie.  This warm yellow hue goes with so many different things, I love that its a cardigan too!

Coat:
I cannot resist this coat!  Its from Ruche, a cute vintage-style store.  Made by Rebe this Maryanne eco-friendly coat is made with recycled fabrics.  Its a little higher in price than I usually prefer to pay for a spring coat, but the recycled aspect makes it more considerable.  Its really cute and the other pictures show that it can be worn a few different ways.  The mild color too will enable you to wear it with jeans and many other things until the heat of summer kicks in.

Shoes/Boots:
The second best thing about rain is getting to wear rain boots!  Here are some cute ones I found that will make the outfit a complete hit!  As far as rain boots go, I think pattern and design are the most exciting, which is best because rain boots should be fun.  If you want to go a more timid route, I think the solid boots are just as lovely!  Shoes.com has this cute plaid pair, and One Little Box has a nice solid yellow that will brighten up any rainy day.  If it isn't raining in your town and you want to just wear some shoes, anything goes.  May I suggest a cute ballet flat, or a short western-style boot- keep it fun!?

Accessories:
Now, here is the real fun part.  I tend to go crazy sometimes with my "Pieces of Flair" and have to edit before I leave the house.  Just remember to edit!  Scarves (Ruche) are always a fun choice, and/or a necklace (Ruche)

The most important part of all if tut tut it looks like rain...your umbrella:

This one from Felix Rey, found on Bloomingdales.com is really great!  During the economically stressful times, remember that stores like Target or even Ebay often have fun and even fashionable umbrellas at really good prices.

Happy Rainy Saturday!

XoXo
