#2 can never be #1

Many times in our lives we are faced with making decisions. Some people like to make decisions. It gives them a sense of power in a world they cannot otherwise control. Some people, and some family members included, shrink down and realize they don't want the power of decision making. Others, like me, will make decisions when I have to, and refuse when it isn't as important.

The other day I was driving home from work. Lucky for me, I have one of the best drives I could ask for while living in Los Angeles. My drive is only about 1.7 miles. Not too far. As luck would also have it, I get to drive opposite of the majority for the time of day I'm traveling. So, I have a good commute and I certainly can't complain. I was nearing the end of my short journey where I cross one more intersection before I get to my neighborhood. Then picture this: Stale green light, changes to a fresh Yellow light. (Yellow lights, as I learned from my younger nephew a few years ago- means speed up!) I cautiously start heading through the intersection- as I had plenty of time to do. CAR COMING RIGHT AT ME!!! EEEK Swerve! HONK! YELL!I realize as I yell my usual, "what the hell? Who does that?" that He - the driver of that car does that. He was #2 coming the opposite direction from me out of my neighborhood. He didn't like the decision that #1 in line had made, to stop on the Yellow light and wait for the next green. So big powerful #2- made the decision to put my life in his hands and go around #1 and essentially scare the hell out of me, started my heart attack that I will have in a few more years of living in LA, and Run the RED light. What a dork! I say again, "Who does that?" only irresponsible jerks.
*If you are #2 you don't get to make the decision on a yellow light to be #1. Case and Point!*

To Update: I'm ok. My cardiologist hasn't been contacted. And My dear car is still running to it's "par". I just really don't like power hungry #2s.
