Please take a few moments and explore this website! I was so excited when I stumbled across this site recently. I am hoping to go and visit the Farm Sanctuary that is in Northern California soon. There is also another farm in New York. (I believe that the picture to the left is from the NY farm.)
I think that this is truly amazing. At the Farm Sanctuary they rescue animals and care for them. The animals get to live the rest of their days in a sanctuary created just for them! They rescue the animals that they find at stockyards, slaughterhouses and factory farms. Most of these animals have been thrown out, abandoned or worse because they were considered "un-productive" for whatever reason. If you read on this website it even says that some of these animals managed to escape their untimely fate by themselves... and somehow managed to get to the sanctuary. There are many happy endings here at the Farm Sanctuary!
The Farm Sanctuary has animal adoptions available (you do have to prove that you will care and love the animal - and that you live a vegan diet) as well as a monthly pledge program where you can donate money to help feed and care for the animals.
The most fun part of all of this is that you can go and stay on the farm and play with the animals, help feed them and just enjoy this peaceful place. This is a 5-star animal resort! This is where the lucky ones go! I hope you get as excited about this as I am!
I can't look at the website anymore -- I just want to quit my job and go live up near the farm so I can be there everyday... maybe some day.... Its all too tempting of a lifestyle. So simple and good. I want to say so much more but I feel like I am rambling.
