Vegetarian Restaurant Month, Restaurant Review #2: Native Foods

http://www.nativefoods.com/

I discovered this restaurant shortly after I decided I was going to be a vegetarian. It has a great location within walking distance from work in Westwood (near UCLA). I have had a good time trying new things on their menu - as everything that I have tasted is not only pleasing to the eye, but to the stomach as well.

If you visit their website you can see they have a variety of choices and flavors. Their Portabello Sausage burger is the most delicious thing I have ever tasted. I can't say its the best thing next to a real hamburger... because it is so much better. Its what the hamburger wishes it could be. I am especially fond of the "Mad Cowboy" - it just like having a good ol' BBQ chicken and veggie dish like mom or grandma would make. (P.S. I never even really liked BBQ chicken) It is absolutely delish - and I must say their "chicken" is right on. If its tacos that you are craving I would like to suggest the "Baja Tacos". These tacos remind me of the battered fish tacos that are so delicious and easy to find all along the So Cal coast.

I am making myself hungry just thinking about all of this food. Native Foods has several locations so look them up and eat there ASAP! It is totally worth it. They also have great desserts and cupcakes.

The food at this wonderful vegan restaurant is consistently delicious and great looking. The atmosphere for dining in is quaint and cozy. Their staff is friendly and helpful should you have any questions about the vegan cuisine. Native Foods has fast become one of my favorite places to dine in or take out.

M recently bought me the Native Foods cookbook. I am excited to dive in and try all of these great vegan dishes. I will post my favorites as soon as I figure out what they are!

Happy Eating! Happy October!
