The Magic Flute, W.A. Mozart
I had the lovely opportunity of attending the LA Opera (as mentioned in the post below) to see Mozart's The Magic Flute. I have wanted to see a production of this for some time so I was more than happy to accompany my girlfriend when she mentioned it a few weeks ago. The part I was looking forward to most, of course, was putting on a pretty dress and having a use for the opera glasses that I purchased right after we got our tickets.
Naturally, the music was more than beautiful, as were the wonderful sets and eye catching costumes! The beauty of The Magic Flute is it is so much like a fanciful fairy tale, but as with most great stories, it hints at a much deeper meaning. It has prominent Masonic elements and is said to have also been influenced by the Enlightenment philosophy.
I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I felt enlightened sitting there in the theater listening to the beautiful music that was written more than 200 years ago. The voices of the performers were so warm and welcoming that I felt I could have listened to it for several more hours.

Sounds great! We want to send a postcard to Annalynn I couldn't figure out to sign up though.
My favorite opera! Hands down!! Unless, it's Puccini on the table then I have to think about it. I guess my favorite comedy.
